 +== pre
 +Spurious and False on its face!
 +
 +Consider an article like https://www.richardcarrier.info/archives/25010 criticizing some bible scholar. The argument is not that he is wrong because he doesnt have special revelation, the argument is that he didn't read the text properly or didn't use logic to do so. The implication being that logically you can draw out the correct meaning from the text.
 +
 +But, the christian who inevitably fails to do so then claims special revelation(!!) i.e. the necessity of the holy spirit to understand the text. This is a kind of bait and switch -- They take on the appellation of science, logic and intelligence when it suits them, and when it doesn't, science, logic and intelligence are denied as faulty because they do not lead to the opinion they came up with.
 +
 +What is most telling is that in every such situation the christian is themself unable to articulate the reading they say was given by the holy spirit. It is literally a cope to allow doublespeak, an on-the-fly special theological definition (ex. "persons" of the trinity) or some other intellectually dishonest tactic.

 Andricus then said, 'Special revelation is evidence of God not caring if humans know who he is or not. Special revelation could be interpreted as a violation of free will, yes. that's good @Frank. Special revelation could very easily be argued as a violation of free will. So long, Bible.' Andricus then said, 'Special revelation is evidence of God not caring if humans know who he is or not. Special revelation could be interpreted as a violation of free will, yes. that's good @Frank. Special revelation could very easily be argued as a violation of free will. So long, Bible.'
 +
 +Meaning, we don't need the bible because by default the bible itself disagrees with our pre-existing belief. This in and of itself is neither good nor bad but it causes issues; ex. see [[Jeremiah vs. King David]].
