In the paper Joseph Chang 1999, it is claimed that the MRCE of all human beings is no older than 5,000 years old. This comports with the idea that an event happened that caused us to all descend from the same father no more than 5,000 years ago.

The conclusion so far is that the atheist who brought this up doesn't know what he is talking about, It seems at the minimum he doesn't understand the difference between genetic and species MRCA.
